1. Do I need to hire a "local" website designer?
Pro Communications creates websites for clients who are local as well as out of the Western Cape, South Africa. By using the Internet, email and the telephone, it is possible to communicate effectively with clients in any location.
2. How long does it take to have a website designed?
The time frame is determined by the size of your website, the complexity of your site design, and our current client design schedule.
3. What is a URL?
It stands for "universal resource locator". This is the address typed in to view your webpage on the Internet. For example, you would type in http://www.adriaanse.co.za to access our home page.
4. What is a domain name?
A domain name is a specific website address that you choose and register. Our domain name is "adriaanse.co.za".
5. Can I choose Pro Communications to design my website and use my own web hosting?
Yes, you can use any web host you like. Once your website has been completed you will have to provide us with your web hosting FTP login username and password so that we can upload your website for you.
6. What is web hosting?
Web hosting is a monthly fee that you pay to have your website accessible on the Internet.
7. What is website maintenance?
Website maintenance is a fee paid monthly to keep your website updated with new content that you provide. Most good websites have new content updated regularly. Fresh content is what will keep your visitors coming back. This is an optional service that we provide for our customers.
8. Why can't I find my website in the search engines?
Once your website has been submitted to the top Search Engines they may require several weeks, or even months to actually spider and list your website in their directory. How fast your website is listed depends on each individual Search Engines database update schedule. View your server traffic logs for visiting spiders. We suggest to use Guaranteed Search Engine Submit. Your website can be listed on AOL, Google, MSN and Yahoo.
9. Website Content - What do I put on my website?
That would depend on the goals of your website. If you run a business website you would include as much information about your products or services that your customers would need to purchase from you.
10. I have made my decision, I want Pro Communications to design my website. Now what do I do?
